Welcome to this review of the Capresso 440.05 MT-500 Electronic Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe. Over the course of this review I would like to deliver an un-biased and balanced report on this machine and hopefully bring you all up to speed on the quirks an features this machine has to offer.
We should start by addressing some of the less than positive issues that this Capresso has. The machine could have been given a little bit sturdier construction, while I don’t have a problem with plastic parts on a machine, I think it should be noted that this machine has a few too many bits of plastic and some places that comprise artificial steel as well.
The carafe is a little bit tricky to set correctly, and while I don’t think it’s too difficult myself it could take a little while to get used to. If you set the carafe in the wrong position you will of course have the nightmare scenario of having coffee split all over you kitchen floor. But like I said, once you get the hang of it, you shouldn’t have any further problems.
The flavor of the coffee that this machine produces however really is top draw. There are a lot of machines in this price range but this is definitely one of the best when it comes to the flavor of the coffee. If you are used to cheaper coffee machines, then you might have noticed that even when you try using a more expensive premium blend of coffee the flavor is almost exactly the same as that of a cheaper blend, this is the fault of the coffee maker. When you start to use a coffee maker like this one you can begin to experiment with premium blends of coffee.
Some reviewers have criticized this machine for brewing coffee at an unsatisfactory temperature, I would say that most machines that do this are probably faulty. The temperature of the coffee on a machine that is working correctly is HOT, you will definitely be struggling to drink it straight away unless you have a mouth made of iron.
I hope that you are now a little more familiar with this machine and feeling more confident about whether this is the nit for you or not. My advice would be it’s probably worth the risk splashing out a little more cash if what you are after is a coffee machine that really does make a high quality cup of coffee on par with coffee house coffee machines.
Thanks for reading.
