There are a number of places to find a cheap Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter on the web, but I would have to say that you can’t go far wrong with the big online names. The best thing about making coffee with a single server coffee maker from Keurig is the fact that you don’t have to worry about putting the effort into grinding or pouring of the coffee grinds, you get a pod from the cupboard open the hood of the machine, place the pod in there and 30 seconds later you have a hot steaming cup of coffee waiting for you in your cup. This does unfortunately come at a rather steep price. And while I personally am quite happy to shell out up to 55 cents per k-cup so that I can brew coffee in style, I don’t think that most people are, so how to brew coffee with a Keurig brewer without losing a fortune on K-cups.
The Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter is the answer to this problem. While there are a few niggling issues that I’m sure we’d all like Keurig to work on and solve, the general cost-effectiveness of this machine is fantastic. One issue that seems to be cropping up, and I must admit that I have experienced this to a degree myself is the strength of the coffee being reduced when you switch to the reusable filter. The water does get through the grounds too fast sometimes. A workaround for this that I found on the internet is to clean out an old pre-fabricated k-cup, cut the top of it away so that you can slot it into the reusable filter. This slows the speed of the water down to the same speed that it would pass through a normal k-cup so that the water has more chance to pick up the coffee flavor from the grinds.
This isn’t something that you should really have to do with a brand new product, but if you want to save the money on buying the normal k-cups then I would give it a try. It may take you an extra few minutes to prepare the k-cup for brewing, but worth it in the long run.
The My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter is something that I would strongly recommend buying if you don’t currently own one. While the product does come with the Keurig B70 Platinum which is probably the best coffee maker that you can currently use with this product, the older models will require that you purchase one separately. Also the life span of the filter is not permanent as well, so you can expect to have to re-buy the product maybe once or twice a year. I have heard reports of the filters breaking sooner than this, but seems to be case by case.
